Solid Waste Management

Introduction Solid waste management has significantly gained attention in the present century. With the impacts of globalization, there is a persistent need for transformative mechanisms of solid waste management. Evidently, most nations continue to experience challenges in solid waste management. Particularly, the developing nations are the highly affected (Singh Ramanathan, 2010).Advertising We will write a custom case study sample on Solid Waste Management specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Apart from the available waste management technologies, municipalities face various dilemmas. Specifically, this regards the choosing of either private or public system of solid waste management. Based on an article describing solid waste management in Canada, this paper focuses on this topic. The paper researches and examines the issue of privatization in solid waste management in Canada. Argument on Privatization of Solid Waste Management T he article reveals crucial debates on the issue of privatization of solid waste management. Observably, there are present potential arguments on the issue of solid waste management. Generally, the debates are based on public and private management of solid waste (Kumar, 2009). Personally, I encourage the adoption and practice of privatization in solid waste management. This decision is informed by the several advantages of a privatized system of solid waste management. As indicated in the article, privatization of the process leads to the realization of high levels of efficiency. Municipalities are able to integrate of enforce quality management systems due to this approach. Indicatively, the relevant municipality can adopt various transformative measures such as performance contracting. Such initiative would enhance the capacity of private partners to manage and dispose all solid wastes according to the appropriate provisions.  A privatized system of solid waste management enable s full compliance by the organizations to various regulatory frameworks. Apart from this, the system allows an easier and flexible manner of conducting compliance monitoring initiatives (McDavid, 1985). Various municipalities around the globe have failed to manage the solid waste in a proper manner. Therefore, privatization enables such municipalities to act as oversight authorities in the disposal and management of these wastes. The approach also minimizes the public expenditures on solid waste management. Thus, more municipal resources are saved and may be utilized in other development projects. Privatization and Improvement of Service Quality Privatization has a significant impact on service quality. The article clearly presents the outcomes on the service quality recorded from a privatized solid waste management system in Canada. It is simple to regulate and contract private firms (Uriarte, 2008). This process is attainable through provision of realistic and competitive service targets.Advertising Looking for case study on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More These targets must be provided or issued to all private firms involved in the management of solid waste. Through engagement of private partners, the solid waste management process becomes more compliant and simple. The municipality only has to provide competitive measures during bidding and p tendering processes. The existence of several players within the private sector increases the rate of competition. Consequently, this situation also leads to the development of high standards for service delivery.  The municipalities are more inclined to offering tenders in consideration of the capacity of individual firms to provide excellent and high quality service. However, it is imperative to note that privatization of solid waste management do not lead to a reduction of cost (Kumar, 2009). Specifically, this is notable in the various private entities that are involved in waste management. They incur great expenses due to high competition and demand for strategic and more transformative solid waste management programs. The individual solid waste generators also have to pay expensively for the services of private firms. The Community and Management of Solid Waste There are several factors considered by a community in the adoption of a privatized or public system of solid waste management. Poor road networks make the public to advocate for privatization of the solid waste management (Anand, 2010). However, this decision is likely to be revoked whenever the collection costs for solid wastes increases. Therefore, high collection costs charged by the private waste handlers make the community to shift to public waste management strategies. Increased compactness of solid waste increases the likelihood of the community to seek for a privatized system of waste management. Highly compacted solid waste might be difficult t o transport, dispose or manage at household or community levels. Effective transportation is a crucial component of solid waste management. However, most solid wastes might be difficult to transport. This depends on several factors including the nature of waste, availability of adequate and improved road network and other required equipment. Regional proximity determines whether the community would opt for a privatized or public solid waste management practices. Facilities located far away from the residence areas of the community might increase the chances for a privatized waste management strategy (Uriarte, 2008). It is evident that the community plays a fundamental role in the determination and dictation of market options in solid waste management.Advertising We will write a custom case study sample on Solid Waste Management specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Some of their practices do not promote competitive bidding markets. Mo st private organizations involved in the management of solid waste are confronted by serious challenges. Analytically, these challenges emerge from the community factors. References Anand, S. Writing an Email at College. Basic Rules

Writing an Email at College. Basic Rules Email Etiquette For Students The times, when you needed to talk to your professor face-to-face, discussing details of the assignment or asking for a piece of advice, have long gone! Now you can simply send an email and reach your professor in a blink of an eye (of course if he allows). In order to avoid misunderstandings and awkward situations, it is important to know the peculiarities of email etiquette. To simplify the process, we have collected the best tips for students of all academic levels and background. Just use them and become an email guru. To Send or Not to Send? Situations, when you can email the tutor or other college staff: You have faced an urgent problem, which should be solved without delays but the receiver is not in the office; You have a solid excuse for not attending the office in person. For example, you are out of town or ill; The question is very simple and requires a very brief answer; Your assignment can be sent via email. When you shouldn’t email your tutor or college staff: The problem is too difficult to be solved via email; Delivering assignment to the tutor, who made it clear that he doesn’t want to receive an electronic version of the paper; Asking for prolongation of the assignment; The topic of the letter is time-consuming and requires quite a long conversation. Appropriate Email Address If you want to get in touch with your professor, it is necessary to use a college email (if you have it) or make sure that your address is professional and appropriate if you are using another email provider. This will prevent you from feeling awkward, because contacting a tutor, using an email like [emailprotected] may is not the best idea. If your email address consists only of initials, you need to identify your personality in the letter. If your class is really big, you also need to specify details of the division and class to make sure the professor knows the sender. For example, this is Anna Kent from Chemistry class 9.30 – 10.30, division 002. Always Use the Subject Line Never neglect to fill in the subject line, as you will surely seem unprofessional. Writing an email, you need to make sure the subject line contains all the information on what your letter is about. If you don’t fill in this section, your email may end up in a spam folder. The system will simply recognize it as a random content and will find it not relevant. Contact Your Tutor Directly Instead of immediately starting the letter with your request, it is better to show your respect and set a professional tone for the whole email. Start your letter with ‘Dear Dr. Jones’ or ‘Good morning Dr. Richards.’ Be Polite Not depending on the reasons why you are writing the letter to your tutor, you must remain polite and calm. Never demand anything, don’t accuse your professor and don’t forget to use words like please or thank you. When working on the email, stick to professional academic style. Instead of slang, use a broader vocabulary. Remain Specific You need to remember that there are thousands of students in your school or college, so it is entirely possible that your professor gets tens or even hundreds of letters every day. He doesn’t have much time reading long and confusing emails, so it is important to make your letter brief and straight to the point. Make sure you concentrate on a single subject without any confusing details and irrelevant topics. Remain Positive It is quite easy to be wrongly interpreted, especially when you are sending an email and not talking face-to-face. That is why you should avoid using negative words and expressions not to seem depressed, scared or blaming professor for something. However, emoticons, smiley faces or winks are not appropriate if you are sending an email to your tutor or college staff. Mention Attached Files Most likely your tutor will open the attachment either way, but it will still be more professional to indicate what you have attached. Include the name of the file, its format and program’s version to the description. For example, It is attached: ‘Mr.SmithEssay.doc.’ This file is in MS Word 2016. The best format to send your attachment is PDF, which is compatible not depending on the operating system your professor uses. Letters of Problems and Complains Ideally, all of the negative aspects should be addressed during a personal meeting. However, if the problem can’t wait and your tutor is not in the office, you can write an email being very careful and attentive. Remember that you shouldn’t write the letter when you are angry, so before pressing the send button and regretting afterward, try to take some time to cool down. Proper Ending Never press the ‘send’ button right after writing the last sentence of your request. To make sure that your email is professional and appropriate, you should always end it in a respectful manner. Use such ending, as Thank you, Kind regards, Respectfully, Sincerely and add your full name. Every email provider has a Signature feature in the setting menu, where you can enter the text, which will be added automatically to every letter. For example: Sincerely, Amanda Boyle Proofreading and Editing Before sending your letter, make sure you reread it a few times to eliminate grammar and spelling mistakes. Your email must be academic and professional, and not as if you were sending funny puppy videos to your classmates. Once again check whether your email consists of full sentences contains no slang and abbreviations. When your email is edited, you can hit the send button. To establish and maintain positive relationships with your tutor and college staff, you need to pay careful attention to the etiquette, when writing emails. Mentioned above tips will surely help you with creating a professional, polite and specific email to reach any goal you may have.

Australian Economy Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

Australian Economy - Assignment Example The government, on the other hand, utilizes fiscal policies to ensure the economy grows at stable rates. The Reserve Bank and the government have ensured stability in the economy of Australia using fiscal and monetary policies since November 2011. The fiscal policy is in form of taxation and government spending; while the monetary regulation is in form of the cash rate and open market operations. The government and the Reserve Bank have succeeded in stabilizing prices and economic growth through the policies. The bodies have not managed to achieve full employment and balance of payment. Performance of the Australian Government and the Reserve Bank in running the economy from November 2011 to November 2013 Price Stability Price stability is achieved when the annual rate of inflation in a country is zero. However, it is hard for a country to achieve a zero rate of inflation because of price and wage rigidities. Price and wage rigidities refer to those charges that do not decrease below certain levels, for example, salaries of executive officers in organizations. The Reserve Bank of Australia set an inflation target of two to three percent (Reserve Bank of Australia, 2013); after taking into account price rigidities in the economy in 2010. Other countries that target the same figure include Hungary, Mexico, Spain, Japan, and Canada among others. This means that the rate that Australia set is favorable and it is widely accepted in the world. The Reserve Bank set the low inflation rate target to avoid the undesirable consequences of high rates of price instability, which include uncertainty, unfair distribution of wealth, and increasing tax benefits for businesses (Reserve Bank of Australia, 2013). These effects, consequently lead to low annual economic growth rate. The bank has managed to maintain the target inflation rate since November 2011. Year January -March April-June July-September October-December Annual 2013 2.5% 2.4% 2012 1.6% 1.2% 2% 2.2% 1.7% 2011 3.3% 3.5% 3.4% 3% 3.3% Quarterly inflation rates since January 2011. (http://www.rateinflation.com/inflation-rate/australia-historical-inflation-rate) The above figures show the rates of inflation in Australia since January 2011. The study, however, aims at determining the average rates from November 2011 to 2013. These include all the quarters of 2013 and 2012, and the last section of 2011 whose rate was 3%. The rate has remained within the 2-3% range in all the relevant quarters of the study. This means that the Reserve Bank has managed to stabilize prices in the country by use of monetary policies. Unemployment Unemployment is the inability of a qualified person to fail to secure a job at the prevailing wage rates. The unemployed people are willing to take jobs at the given wage rates, but they fail to find jobs in the market. Unemployment leads to undesirable consequences in the economy, for example, it lowers the per capita income, increases dependency, and leads to theft and prosti tution among others. The government and the Reserve Bank have failed to ensure low rates of unemployment in the country since 2011 because of the instability of some sectors in the economy. Long term unemployment has remained above 5% in the country since October 2011; whereas the velocity was below that amount before this period (Chua, 2013). This means that the management of unemployment has been inefficient, and this pulls down the economic growth

Reformation in Northern Europe has an effect on painting Essay

Reformation in Northern Europe has an effect on painting - Essay Example The essay "Reformation in Northern Europe has an effect on painting" analyzes what influence has the reformation in Nothern Europe on painting. In fact, reformation led to the fromation of protenstantism with constituent branches spread across Europe. The spread of reformation was enahanced by use of images, which become remarkably effective in dissemination of information regarding the negaitve practices of the church that the reformationists were opposed to thus art was applied to popularize the reformation movement . First, the main cause of the reformation was deeply rooted in dissatisfaction with the practices upheld by the church. This movement is attributed to protests founded by a German named Martin Luther who was an Augustinian monk. In 1517, he expressed his arguments against the abuse of indulgences that were solely official pardons granted upon repentance of one’s sins. The particular objection raised by the reformist was the parctice of selling indulgences that a llowed christians to literary buy their â€Å"ticket† into heaven. This practice had become quite popular in the beginning of the 16th century. Martin Luther, the founder of the reformation objected to the basic tenets of the Roman Catholic Church, which entailed the clergy’s exclusive manadate to grant salavation. Martin Luther believed that a person’s salvation was dependent on an individual’s faith and not solely on priestly mediation. In addition, Martin Luther considered the Bible to be the true and ultimate source.

Cause and Effect of Humiliation in the Classroom Essay

Cause and Effect of Humiliation in the Classroom - Essay Example Humiliation is one of them. Humiliation is putting someone down and making him/her seem bad in front of people. The person being humiliated feels embarrassed and ashamed in front of everyone and feels uncomfortable facing people in front of whom he has been humiliated. The Psychological reason is the insecurities that one might have about oneself. Such people derive their self-esteem from crushing others’ self-esteem by humiliating them in front of everyone. It fits most of the habitual bullies, who humiliate anyone and everyone they can find anything bad about. The victims are usually the people who are weak or cannot fight back. Another distinct cause is rivalry among students. Students find revenge in humiliating their rivals in front of everyone taking advantage of practically anything that they could find against the opponent. The first and the foremost effect of humiliation is absenteeism. When the victim cannot find a way to avoid humiliation at school, he/she tends to stay at home and not go to school altogether. If this practice extends far too much, the student may drop out of school altogether. Decreased self-confidence and tarnished self-esteem is another consequence of humiliation. The target of this vicious act starts losing friends and feels alone in a cruel world where everyone seems to be against him. His self esteem goes down the drain and he finds it very difficult to believe in himself and stand up for himself in face of problems that might arise in life. He feels like a loser and his whole life gets affected as he cannot take decisions properly and thinks his life is ruined. Emotionally, the person is torn inside and out. He feels everyone is against him and everyone hates him. He stops trusting people and feels encaged in a trap. He feels frustrated annoyed and mentally disturbed all the time,

Sapir-Worf Hypothesis: Linguistic Determinism and Linguistic Relativit

Sapir-Worf Hypothesis: Linguistic Determinism and Linguistic Relativity The romantic idealism of the late eighteenth century, as encountered in the views of Johann Herder (1744-1803) and Wilhelm von Humboldt (I 762-1835), placed great value on the diversity of the world’s languages and cultures. The tradition was taken up by the American linguist and anthropologist Edward Sapir (1884-1939) and his pupil Benjamin Lee Whorf (1897-1941), and resulted in a view about the relation between language and thought which was widely influential in the middle decades of this century. The â€Å"Sapir-Whorf hypothesis,† as it came to be called, combines two principles. The first is known as linguistic determinism: it states that language determines the way we think. The second follows from this, and is known as linguistic relativity: it states that the distinctions encoded in one language are not found in any other language. In a much- quoted paragraph, Whorf propounds the view as follows: We dissect nature along lines laid down by our native languages. The categories and types that we isolate from the world of phenomena we do not find there because they stare every observer in the face; on the contrary, the world is presented in a kaleidoscopic flux of impressions which has to be organized by our minds--and this means largely by the linguistic systems in our minds. We cut nature up, organize it into concepts, and ascribe significances as we do, largely because we are parties to an agreement to organize it in this way-an agreement that holds throughout our speech community and is codified in the patterns of our language. The agreement is, of course, an implicit and unstated one, but its terms are absolutely obligatory; we cannot talk at all ... ...version of the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis is generally accepted. Language may not determine the way we think, but it does influence the way we perceive and remember, and it affects the ease with which we perform mental tasks. Several experiments have shown that people recall things more easily if the things correspond to readily available words or phrases. And people certainly find it easier to make a conceptual distinction if it neatly corresponds to words available in their language. Some salvation for the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis can therefore be found in these studies, which are carried out within the developing field of psycholinguistics. Works Cited: Crystal, David. Animal Farm: Snowball Essay

He was a great leader, a devious leader, but caring at the same time. You may have thought I was talking about a man, but I was talking about a very powerful pig on a farm. I read a book called Animal Farm by George Orwell. The animals in this story represented humans in the Russian revolution. It was a very interesting book and I related most to a character named Snowball. The character that I feel represented me the most is an eloquent, passionate, and intelligent pig named Snowball. In the beginning of the novel, Snowball was the leader of Animal Farm. He and Napoleon often competed against each other. Even though Snowball believed in Animalism and felt that pigs were more superior to the other animals on the farm everyone still agreed with everything that he said. He created the slogan â€Å"Four legs good, two legs bad.† Snowball had always won the animal’s side against Napoleon. Later on, Snowball led a battle against Mr. Jones and the other farmers. The crusade was called the Battle of the Cowshed. After the animals won, Snowball had even more power than he had ever had before. He had an idea that they should build a windmill to power the farm and provide better service for the animals. Napoleon realized that Snowball had to leave the farm. He got Snowball to leave the farm by having dogs chase him away and he never came back after that. The author of Animal Farm named George Orwell, represented Snowball as Leon Trotsky. I think that Orwell did a very good job comparing a pig to a tremendous war leader from the Russian revolution. Snowball and Trotsky shared many characteristics. Some of them are that they were both clever leaders, they both wanted to make life better for their comrades and that they were both admirable, good speakers. In my opinion, it seems like it would be very difficult to represent important, influential people from the Russian revolution to animals. Orwell did a very nice job of comparing the two. Not only does Snowball compare to Trotsky, he also can represent me too. The competent pig, Snowball can represent me in some ways too. We are both smart, nice, caring, and responsible. Another way that we are alike is that we both compete against people. Snowball competes against Napoleon, and I compete against other girls at dance competitions. As you know, Snowball was a devious but caring leader. He led the Battle of the Cowshed, had conflicts with Napoleon, and got chased out of the farm by vicious dogs that Napoleon sent to attack him. I believe that Snowball was a better leader than Napoleon because he cared more about the animals, but at the same time Snowball treated the pigs better than the rest of the animals on the farm. Snowball may have gotten chased out of the manor farm, but he will always be my favorite and most representable leader from the book. Types of Business Writing

Types of Business Writing When we think of business writing types, we usually think or letters, emails, and maybe reports. In fact, there are many more. And there are just as many types of writing skills required for all of these types of business writing. Heres a brief look at the types of writing in business that you can expect if you choose a career in this field: What are the Three Types of Business Correspondence Writing? Types of business correspondence writing include memos, letters, and memorandum. Each of these has a different format and style, and using the incorrect style can be a big mistake. Memos are internal communication pieces that are often sent electronically today. They use a familiar writing style that is informal in tone. These communications are often to make announcements or to remind staff of meetings, etc. Memorandum are formal memos and have a decidedly more business-like tone and structure. These are often used to inform staff of new policies or procedures, should have a to line, a from line a subject line and a date, so that the time of issuance is clear for future reference. Letters are external communication, gong to clients, prospects, affiliates, etc. These are generally formal in style and tone and are written on letterhead stationery. They may be sent electronically, but should always be signed. Within this category, there are specific types of business letters sales, proposal, follow-up, etc. Cover letters that accompany application, letters of reference/recommendation, and even resignation letters are also considered business letters. The common denominator here is that they are more formal in nature and style. Types of Proposal Writing Just as with other types of writing in business, there are a few different types of proposal writing. First and foremost, the common denominator is that they are all pretty formal documents. One of the most common types of business proposal is the Sales Proposal - a detailed document presented to a potential customer or client. This outlines exactly what that customer will receive for a specific amount of payment. One of the most common uses of these is by consultants who are offering their services to a client. Another common form of types of business proposals is one that is prepared for investors. Entrepreneurs with startups that need infusions of money often prepare these for presentation. This proposal outlines the goals of the company, the product or service to be offered, an analysis of the potential market, pricing, revenue projections, etc. There are templates for these all over the Internet to help a new business owner in his preparation Still another type of business proposal occurs in-house. While these may vary in topic, they are usually presented to superiors when a departmental or product change is being considered. A marketing manager, for example, may prepare a proposal for a re-organization of his department, adding staff perhaps. This will go up the chain of command for approval. The key element of this type of proposal will be details of the proposed change and the benefit to the organization. Reports There are as many types of reports as there are other types of business writing. Accountants prepare in-house financial reports on a quarterly basis, showing costs and revenue and making recommendations going forward Sales managers prepare quarterly sales reports, so they may be compared with previous quarters and so that projected sales can be forecasted HR departments prepare quarterly or annual reports for all things personnel-related, such as turnover, absenteeism, cost of benefits, etc. Annual reports are prepared for shareholders, so they have a pretty detailed overview of how the company has fared over the past year. These also include projections for future growth. All of these types require various types of writing, but they are generally formal in tone and style and obviously contain graphs, charts, etc. Attention to detail, particularly when numbers are involved, is critical. Marketing and Promotional Materials Various types of writing styles and tones are required for marketing. There are formal marketing materials that may be sent out to potential clients. These detail offered products and/or services There is content marketing produced for websites, blogs, and social media these require a different type of writing skills, are informal, and can be entertaining, educational, or inspirational. Creativity is a definite requirement. So, these are four broad categories of business writing types. As the concept ad nature of business in general changes, business writing will also change in nature. In general, traditional corporations will tend to maintain the more formal categories of writing, while newer companies, especially those that exist primarily online will trend toward less formality. The bottom line is this: if you are going to be involved in business writing, there are a myriad of writing skills you will need to develop. When You Need Some Help Not every business writer is skilled in all the types of writing he may need to produce. And learning how to be an effective business writer is a process. If you are struggling with your business writing, in any of the categories, a wise move is to use custom essay writing services that have a business and copywriting departments they can produce the writing pieces and documents you need.

Tattoos a Fine Art Essay Example

Tattoos a Fine Art Essay Example Tattoos a Fine Art Essay Tattoos a Fine Art Essay Essay Topic: Lolita Tattoos a Fine Art Tattoos are considered fine art and are accepted more now than ever before. â€Å"Tattoos date back to 12,000 BC. The word tattoo comes from a Tahitian word tattow or ta-tu meaning to mark the skin† (Lori). Tattoos have been evident in many cultures throughout the centuries† the ancient Greeks tattooed spies, the Romans tattooed criminals and the Polynesians tattooed ranking members of their tribes† (Lori). Around the 1950’s tattoos lost popularity they picked up a stereotype of being on bad people: hoodlums, jail birds, or people that were considered social outcasts. In the 1960’s the outbreak of hepatitis caused tattooing to fall out of popularity. Around 1972 tattoos began to gain popularity again with new procedures for cleaning and better art work being presented. This is when tattooing started gaining its Statius of fine art. New and intricate work were being done, fantasy motifs some being influenced by Japanese high detail tattooing. This is where tattoo artist started learning how to improve on their work and to create master pieces if fine art. The more detail and intricate the work the better the show piece. Tattooing has flourished into a full artistic medium that is taking the world by storm with its endless variety of techniques and abilities to do just about anything as a tattoo design. â€Å"With the tattoo profession being gradually taken over by experienced artists, we are seeing many modern illustrative styles being tattooed, from comic book art to futuristic computer-generated designs. Classic painters; Such as Van Gogh and Dali, are being painstakingly interpreted on skin alongside modern masters such as Alex Grey and H. R. Ginger. In less than a century, tattooing has evolved to encompass every conceivable style of art† (Hope). Tattoo Artists are constantly pushing the boundaries of the art form by finding bold new ways of expressing themselves on a living canvas. Nevertheless, Tattoo Art has been looked down upon, if not completely ignored, for decades, which is silly when you think about it. I mean, isn’t â€Å"art† simply a means of expression and a form of communication? Now days people are getting portraits of loved ones, wild animals, murals, famous works of art, and even intricate designs tattooed on themselves. Some of these tattoos even tell stories about something that may have happened to them during their lives, or to memorialize someone special that has passed on. Tattoo art might seem a little superficial and decorative on the surface, but most tattoos usually have a deeper meaning even if that meaning is only known to the bearer. They are finding more and more people with tattoos as they are becoming more socially acceptable in today’s culture. One can find such people as:† Celebrities, sports heroes and even royalty are no strangers to body art including Angelina Jolie, Robert di Niro, Julia Roberts, Jason Giambi, Anna Kournikova, King Frederick of Denmark, Queen Olga of Greece and Princess Stephanie of Monaco† (Lori). There are such artist as Thomas Hooper who have people coming to him for his work that don’t really care what he puts on them as long as it’s a Hooper he has a waiting list six months long. He of course declines the offer and wants the clients input on the work. But he knows the reason people do this it is like buying a painting of a famous artist for a collection. Hooper has a style all his own and that is what has earned him the respect and following that he has. Hooper is not alone there are many tattoo artist in many major cities all over the world with huge followings; in New York Anil Gupta, another one in America is Steve Byrne who has people who seek him out where ever he might be at the time. Steve says that half of the people that he has tattooed have traveled to find him or just happened to have caught him at a convention in their area. Conventions have now become a big thing these are like a mobile art gallery, these are where people come to see works of art on other people. One might also be interested in the new tattoo technology; upgrades on machines, new colors, cleansers, shop supplies, techniques, and maybe even a lesson or two from a master. There are also clients there looking for artist in their area so they can get a look at their work. These are great places to go if one would like to broaden their horizon and become enlightened on the facts of tattooing. A lot of your tattoo artist â€Å"now have the coveted initials MFA (Masters of Fine Art) after their names and have studied in respected art schools† (Harris). These artists have very long waiting lists and are very expensive but as the saying goes one only get what one pay for, and if one wants a masterpiece one will have to pay for it just like if one were buying a fine painting. It’s guessed that 48% of people ages 17 to 25 have a minimum of one tattoo and 40% of people ages 26 to 60 have as a minimum of one tattoo (Lampica), but it is still a fact that there are more adult men that have tattoos then females that are tattooed. How the deficits of the 1980's contributed to the prosperity of the Term Paper

How the deficits of the 1980's contributed to the prosperity of the 1990's - Term Paper Example These are: (1) to reduce the growth of government spending, (2) to reduce the marginal tax rates on income from both labor and capital, (3) to reduce regulation, and (4) to reduce inflation by controlling the growth of the money supply† (Niskanen, â€Å"Encyclopedia†). These changes reduced taxes for most wage earners, and most of the poor were actually exempted from taxes. Reagan also eliminated price controls on oil and natural gas, long distance telephone service, and ocean shipping. As reported by the Joint Economic Committee in April of 2000, Reagan’s polices resulted in the largest peacetime economic boom in American history. It also resulted to 35 million jobs for many Americans. The committee reports, â€Å"[i]n 1981, newly elected President Ronald Reagan refocused fiscal policy on the long run†¦these were fundamental changes that proved the foundation for the Great Expansion that began in December 1982† (Sperry, â€Å"Issues†). At the b eginning of the 1990s when Reagan’s tax rate cuts were set in place, tax payers who earned more were taxed more, and those who earned less were taxed less. This gave a chance for those in the lower rungs of the economic ladder to recover from their difficult economic situation. The reductions in income tax for those who had lower income were so dramatic because President Reagan doubled the personal exemption; he also increased the standard deduction, and he tripled the earned income tax credit. Earned income tax credit gave net cash to single-parent families with children at the lowest income levels. Reagan’s economic policies practically took from the rich and took less from the poor, and this gave the lower income group in American society a chance to recover and improve their lives. The eventual manifestations of improved life were later seen in the 1990s. The stimulants for growth in the 1990s can be traced back to the economic measures and policies which were implemented during the
